Lane, aged 60, of Commerce street, South Norfolk, died in a local hospital yesterday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock. She was a native of Perquimans County, North Carolina, and had made her home in this section 42 years. She was the wife of Thomas A. Lane and daughter of the late Baker Dale and Lydia Proctor Howell. Surviving her are three half-sisters, Mrs. G.W. Forehand and Mrs. Charles Davie, of South Norfolk and Mrs. Charles Turner, of Norfolk and a half-brother, Kader Howell, of South Norfolk. She was a member of the Woman's Benefit Association of South Norfolk, the Daughters of America, Oakdale Rebekah Lodge and the Baptist denomination. The body was removed to the J.R. Williams Funeral Home, 1027 Chesapeake avenue, South Norfolk, pending funeral arrangements.
