Virginian Pilot Tuesday December 22, 1908

Mrs. Lydia Lane, wife of M.W. Lane, departed this life at her home in North 
Avenue, Atlantic City Ward, Saturday night at 6:30 o'clock in the 50th year of 
her age.  The deceased was born in North Carolina but had made her home in 
Norfolk for six years, where she was highly esteemed by a large circle of 
friends,  The deceased had been ill for twelve months.
The funeral was held from the residence at 11 o'clock a.m. yesterday and was 
conducted by Rev. E.E. Dudley.  Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery.
