B. Lane, who was associated with the Palisadian, a newspaper in Cliffside Park, died on Friday. He was 81. Mr. Lane, who retired from the Palisadian in 1972, had been with the paper for 50 years and had been its editor from 1929 to 1965. During his tenure at the Palisadian, Mr. Lane serve for some 30 years as an executive secretary with the Cliffside Park Chamber of Commerce. Before becoming editor, he was an associate editor and business manager at the paper. Born in Norfolk, Va., Mr. Lane had resided in Englewood Cliffs with his wife, Laure Marcus Lane, who had been employed by the newspaper during the 1930's and 1940's. Mrs. Lane survives him. Mr. Lane had attended Pierce College in Philadelphia. A memorial service is scheduled Tuesday night at 8 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, Cliffside Park. Arrangements were made by McCorry Brothers of Cliffside Park. Donations to the Englewood Cliffs Volunteer Ambulance Corp would be appreciated.
