Virginian-Pilot October 26, 1934
Mrs. Emily Baker Lane, wife of Thom B. Lane, and daughter of the late Richard H. 
and Anna Maria May Baker, died at the home of relatives in Salem yesterday 
afternoon at 5 o'clock. Mrs. Lane was a native and lifelong resident of Norfolk. 
She was a communicant of St. Paul's Church and was well known. Besides her 
husband, she is survived by one brother, Dr. Benjamin May Baker; a sister, Miss 
Minnie Lee Baker, and a number of nieces and nephews. The body will be taken from 
H. D. Oliver's Funeral Apartments, 610-612 East Freemason street, to St. Paul's 
Church tomorrow at 12 o'clock noon. Interment will be private in Elmwood Cemetery. 
Friends are requested by the family to kindly omit flowers.
