Virginian Pilot June 28, 1988

Leila Ferebee Lane, 94, of the 1100 block of Chesapeake Ave., died June 26, 
1988, in a hospital.
Mrs. Lane, a native of Norfolk County, was the widow of Waverly T. Lane.  She 
was a member of South Norfolk Congregational Christian Church. 
Survivors include a daughter, Leila V. Weeks of Chesapeake; four sons, Waverly 
T. Lane Jr., Calvin H. Lane and M. Lankford Lane, all of Chesapeake and William 
H. Lane of Delray Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Louise Maxwell and Mary King, both 
of Chesapeake; a brother, Ellis Ferebee of Norfolk;  10 grandchildren; 11 great-
grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Gay & Oman Funeral Homes, 
Francis A. Gay Chapel, South Norfolk, by the Revs. Nelson Hodges and Willis E. 
Joiner.  Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery, Norfolk.  Friends may join the 
family from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.  Memorial donations may be 
made to South Norfolk Congregational Christian Church.
