Virginian Pilot July 12, 1902

Mr. J. Thomas Lane, of Currituck, N.C., died yesterday morning at 5 o'clock at the 
home of his brother, Mr. Parlet Lane, in Oakdale, after a sickness of about ten 
days. Mr. Lane was 27 years of age and came here to visit his father, Mr. William 
Lane and brother, about two weeks ago. His death was due to congestion of the 
brain. The funeral will be conducted from the family residence this afternoon at 3 
o'clock and the interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
