Lane and a son of John and Mrs. Alice Whipple Lane. A native of Hanover County, he lived in Norfolk 50 years. He was a member of First Methodist Church, Brotherhood of Railway Clerks, and American Legion and was a Veteran of World War I. He worked for Southern Railway 45 years. Besides his widow, he is survived by two sons, Winston S. Lane of Norfolk and James W. Lane of Virginia Beach; a sister, Mrs. Robert Tignor of Hanover,Richmond. A funeral service will be conducted in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Thursday at 3 p.m. by the Rev. George H. Boyd of Larchmont Methodist Church. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Heart Fund.
