Lane Dies; Long Ill Waverly Thomas Lane, 62, of 1118 Chesapeake Avenue, South Norfolk, who for many years operated a billiard parlor and confectionery on East Liberty Street, South Norfolk, died yesterday at 6:05 a.m. in a Norfolk hospital after an illness of three years. He sold his business and retired in 1948. A native of South Norfolk, he was the son of the late James Thomas and Mrs. Rebecca McCloud Lane. He was a member of the South Norfolk Christian Church and of South Norfolk Lodge 70, I.O.O.F. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Leila Ferebee Lane; two daughters, Mrs. George T. Jarvis, of South Norfolk, and Mrs. L.G. Weeks, of San Diego, Calif.; five sons, James G. Lane, Waverly T. Lane, Calvin H. Lane, William H. Lane and Lankford Lane; five sisters, Mrs. Nellie Van Vleek, Mrs. Bernetta Abbott, Mrs. Myrtle White, Mrs. Helen Overton and Mrs. Emma Fulford, and six grandchildren, all of South Norfolk. Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk.
