A native of Portsmouth, Langhorne first was employed by Eure, Gregory & Co. He served two four-year terms on the Portsmouth Board of Aldermen. Langhorne joined the Citizens Bank early in 1904 and became a member of the staff of Seaboard Citizens National Bank when the Citizens Bank merged with that institution in 1928. He retired in 1953. He was a son of William S. and Mrs. Rosalie Bilisoly Langhorne and husband of Mrs. Mary Dodd Langhorne. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council 367. Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Miss Mary Lou Langhorne; two sons, Maurice B. Langhorne Jr. and William T. Langhorne, and two grandsons, all of Norfolk. The Rosary will be said at his home at 1118 Leigh St. tonight at 7:30. The body will be taken from his home to Sacred Heart Catholic Church for a Requiem Mass Tuesday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The family requests that flowers be omitted.
