Captain Langley was a native of Norfolk and, having spent many years of his life here, was well known and generally esteemed. He was in the 56th year of his age when called to meet his God. Before the war, for a long period, he resided in the West Indies, where be engaged in the West India trade. Subsequently, he was connected with the firm of Burruss, Rogers & Langley, importers of wines, brandies, &c., and exporters of staves. After the war, he again went into the West India trade, and later transacted the ship broker's business, in which he was engaged at the time of his death. He leaves a host of friends and many relatives to mourn his loss. The funeral took place from the residence of the deceased yesterday afternoon, at 4 o'clock, and was largely attended. The ever-impressive service was conducted by the Rev. O. S. Barten and, at its conclusion, the remains were conveyed to the cemetery and interred with the usual solemn rites. Peace to his ashes.
