Langley (age 91), known as Jack, and a resident for many years at Westminster Canterbury in Virginia Beach, died October 13, 2023. Jack was the son of Leslie C. and Mabel Pearson Langley. He was a native of Norfolk and held two degrees from Virginia Tech. He had studied at Old Dominion University, the College of William and Mary, the University of Virginia and North Carolina State University. He was a mathematics teacher for 25 years, retiring from Norfolk City Public Schools in 1984. Jack was a Mason, a veteran, and a member and former Vestryman at Christ and Saint Luke's Episcopal Church. He was a chorister and member of the choir for many years. He was a member of the Chrysler Museum and former member of the Mariners Museum in Newport News for many years. Jack was a world traveler who treasured and maintained many friendships he made over his long life. His frequent and heartfelt correspondence will be missed. Jack was preceded in death by sisters, Muriel Edwards Farish and Patricia Lambert, and their husbands. He is survived by a number of nephews and nieces and their families who loved him dearly. A service will be held at 10am, Friday Nov. 3rd, at Westminster Canterbury in Virginia Beach. The cremains will be placed in Elmwood Cemetery in the Leslie C. Langley lot.
