The Virginian-Pilot, Wednesday, July 14, 1971

NORFOLK - Lafayette C. Langston of 860 Ave. C., the husband of Mrs. Estelle B. 
Lanston, died Tuesday at 7 a.m. in a hospital.

A native of Nansemond County, he was a son of Mrs. Colista L. Selden and the 
late Clarence Langston.

He was a retired merchant seaman.

He was a 1951 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School and a 1954 graduate 
of Norfolk division of Virginia State College.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, Bute Street, a former member of its 
Youth Group, a former Boy Scout, former lifeguard at Camp E.W. Young, and a 
member of Hunton YMCA.

Besides his widow and mother, surviving are a son, Vance Lafayette Langston of 
Providence, R.I.; and a stepson, Luther Williams of New York.

The body was taken to Hale Funeral Home.

Additional Comments:
NORFOLK - A funeral service for Jeremiah Brown will be held today at 10:30 a.m. 
in Mt. Zion Light Church of Christ by the Rev. J.T. Jones. Another service will 
be held today at 2p.m. in Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, Newsoms, with burial in the 
church cemetery. E.A. Hughes Funeral Home has charge.
