Lanigan died at 2:35 o’clock yesterday afternoon at St. Vincent’s Hospital from pistol wounds. He was a son of the late Patrick and Margaret Lanigan, and had been a resident of Norfolk for forty years. He was in the 50th year of his age. He was well-known and was quite prominent in politics a few years ago. He was in Culpeper, Virginia, and moved to this city when he was 10 years old. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Elmer Wheeler and Mrs. P. H. Lawler, and two brothers, Thomas P. and James Lanigan, all of Norfolk. His body is now at the undertaking establishment of H. D. Oliver, 610-612 East Freemason street. The funeral services will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church tomorrow morning at 10 o’clock. The burial will be made in St. Mary’s cemetery.
