NORFOLK - Helen Epner Lapping of Norfolk, Virginia, died on Friday, April 5, 
2013. She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur Epner and the late Maurice 
Lapping. She was the loving mother of Gerald and Carol Epner, Ruth and Frank 
Paul and Robert and Lillie Epner. She was active her entire life in 
Congregation B'Nai Israel and its Sisterhood and the Women's Auxiliary of the 
Jewish War Veterans. Helen was devoted to her family and her community and gave 
unselfishly to all. She is survived by seven grandchildren and twelve great-
grandchildren as well. Although in recent years she was no longer able to 
travel, her indomitable spirit, kindness and affection were felt by all. A 
funeral service will be conducted 10 a.m. Monday April 8 at the Norfolk Chapel 
of H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts.
