NORFOLK — Ruth Hughes Lasater, of the 8400 block of Primrose St., a retired 
secretary, died Sept. 15, 1988, in her home.
Mrs. Lasater, a native of Portsmouth, was the widow of William R. Lasater Sr. 
She had retired from the Public Works Department at the Norfolk Naval Operations 
Base. She was a member of Norview Baptist Church and The Five Pointer Club.
Survivors include a son, William R. Lasater Jr. of Dorchester, Mass.; and a 
sister, Vivian H. Groves of Norfolk.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Cox Funeral Home by the 
Rev. Joel L. Morgan, Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Friends may join the 
family from 7 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Norview Baptist Church or a charity of one's 
choice.
