The Norfolk Virginian Pilot October 22, 1937 
Miss Bessie Ruth Lassiter, aged 54, daughter of the late D. Frank and Mrs. 
Margaret Burgess Lassiter, died at her residence, 327 West Thirtieth street, 
yesterday afternoon at 5:10 o'clock. Miss Lassiter was a native and lifelong 
resident of Norfolk. She is survived by two cousins, Misses Norma A. and 
Kathleen M. Doran, with whom she resided; two sisters, Mrs. H.F. Wilson and 
Mrs. R.L. Watson; one niece, Miss Jane Anne Watson, and three nephews, Frank, 
Edward and Burgess Wilson, all of Norfolk. Funeral services will be held at the 
residence Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock with the Rev. Leo J. Ryan, pastor of 
the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, of which Miss Lassiter was a member, 
officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
