Norfolk Virginian Pilot Wednesday July 7, 1937
Mrs. Margaret Jane Burgess Lassiter, aged 83 years, widow of D. Frank 
Lassiter and daughter of the late William and Mrs. Diana Elizabeth Parker 
Burgess, a native of Elizabeth City, N.C. and for the past 50 years a 
resident of Norfolk, died at 8:25 o'clock yesterday morning at the 
residence, 323 West Thirtieth Street.  She is survived by three daughters, 
Miss Bessie Ruth Lassiter, Mrs. H.F. Wilson, and Mrs. R.L. Watson, a 
daughter-in-law, Mrs. W.D. Lassiter; three grandsons, Frank, Edward, and 
Burgess Wilson; a granddaughter, Jane Anne Watson; two nieces, Norma A. and 
Kathleen M. Doran, and a nephew, D.F. Burgess, all of Norfolk.  Funeral 
services will be held at the above residence, tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 
o'clock, with the Rev. H.S. Hardcastle, pastor of the Christian Temple, 
officiating.  Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
