Mr. Lassiter was a member of the furniture firm of J.S. Crawford & Company, Portsmouth, a member of the board of stewards of Memorial Methodist Church and a well known citizen of this place. He was the son of the late James E. and Mrs. Harriett Lassiter, of Western Branch, Norfolk County. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Clara Lassiter; two daughters, Miss Mildred Nicholas and Miss Lillian Leona Lassiter; one sister, Mrs. Alice M. Simonson; three brothers, William L. Lassiter, Smithfield, James E. Lassiter, Portsmouth and Eugene Lassiter, Baltimore. The funeral will be conducted at the residence Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, by Rev. R. Finley Gayle, pastor of Memorial Methodist Church and Rev. R.D. Stephenson, pastor of the Berkley Avenue Baptist Church. Burial will be in the family lot in Magnolia Cemetery.
