Virginian-Pilot March 17, 1936
George W. (Doc) Lassiter, aged 64 years, son of the late D. C. and Priscilla P. 
Lassiter, a native and lifelong resident of Norfolk, died Sunday afternoon at 
12:20 o'clock at a local hospital. Services were held at the grave in the family 
plot in elmwood Cemetery yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with Chaplain William 
E. Callender, U.S.P.H.S., officiating. The casket was covered with a pall of 
Easter lilies and ferns.
