Norfolk Ledger-Dispatch October 17, 1917
                           JAMES ELTON LASSITER
Accompanied by relatives, the remains of James Elton Lassiter, son of Mr. and Mrs. 
William L. Lassiter, arrived here this morning from Petersburg, where he died 
Monday afternoon, in his 16th year. The funeral took place at the grave in Elmwood 
cemetery at 11:45 o'clock this morning, Rev. G. W. Wray, of the Port Norfolk 
Methodist Church, officiating. There were beautiful floral offerings. The 
pallbearers were: James Murphy, Vivian Hopkins, Wallace Rountree, Gilbert Heinman, 
Clarence Walters, Cecil Woodard.
