Virginian-Pilot December 18, 1931
John Norfleet Lassiter, aged 57, died at a local hospital yesterday afternoon at 
2:25 o'clock. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nora Warren Lassiter; a daughter, 
Mrs. W. R. Sivills, Jr.; a son, J. N. Lassiter, Jr., two sisters, Mrs. Stormer 
McDaniel; of Sunbury, N.C. and Mrs. Atlas Lowe, of Rich Square, N.C.; three 
brothers, J. Ed, Roger and Lewter Lassiter, all of Rich Square, and two 
grandchildren. Mr. Lassiter was a native of Woodland, N.C., but had been a 
resident of Norfolk for the last 40 years. He was a member of Spurgeon Memorial 
Baptist Church, Vandalia Lodge No. 47, I.O.O.F., and Norfolk Council No. 2 
O.F.A.
The body will be taken from the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home to Spurgeon Memorial 
Baptist Church for funeral services tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock. Burial will 
be in Elmwood Cemetery.
