VIRGINIA BEACH — Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth (Bessie) Lassiter, 77, the widow of 
William D. Lassiter, died Sunday afternoon in the home of a niece, Mrs. Graydon 
B. Walker, of 3133 Watergate Lane, Kings Grant.
A native of Mecklenburg County, she lived in Tidewater 59 years. She was a 
daughter of Charles J. and Mrs. Sarah Dunn Tucker.
She was a member of The Christian Temple.
She formerly worked for Terwilliger Casket Co. in Norfolk and retired from 
Portsmouth Casket Co.
Also surviving are two brothers, Charles R. Tucker of Charleston, S.C. and 
Samuel H. Tucker of Brooklyn; and a sister, Mrs. Ruth Wilgress of Brooklyn.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, 
Tidewater Drive, by the Rev. Richard T. Prince. Burial will be in Elmwood 
Cemetery.
