Virginian-Pilot December 30, 1931
William L. Lassiter, native of Western Branch, Norfolk County, died yesterday 
morning at 8:45 o'clock at his residence, 624 New York avenue, Colonial Place. 
He had been a resident of Norfolk for the past nine years.
Mr. Lassiter was the son of the late James and Harriette Lassiter, of Western 
Branch, and is survived by his wife, Mrs. Roberta Jones Lassiter; two sons, 
Wallace B. Lassiter, of Portsmouth, and Alford Lee Lassiter, of Richmond, Ky.; 
three daughters, Mrs. Claude A. Skeeter, of Portsmouth, and Mrs. Presley Lee 
Culpepper and Miss Mary V. Lassiter, of Norfolk; two brothers, Edward Lassiter, 
of Portsmouth, and Eugene Lassiter, of Baltimore; one half-brother, James M. 
Lassiter, of Portsmouth; one sister, Mrs. Alice Simonson, of Portsmouth; one 
half-sister, Mrs. C. A. Voile, of Hampton; one granddaughter, Nancy Lee 
Lassiter, of Richmond, Ky., and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will take place at the residence Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. 
Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
