                 WILLIE LASSITER LOSES LIFE WHILE BATHING
         Young Norfolk Man Seized with Cramps and Drowned at Onley
Willie B. Lassiter, 20 years old, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Lassiter, was 
drowned Friday afternoon while in bathing with two companions at Onley, Va.
The young man, who was a good swimmer, is believed to have been seized with 
cramps. His companions made a heroic but futile effort to save him.
Besides his parents, the young man is survived by a sister, Miss Melissa 
Lassiter, and a brother, John N. Lassiter, Jr. The funeral will be held Monday 
morning at 10:30 o'clock at the family residence, 1614 Brambleton avenue. The 
interment will be in Elmwood cemetery.
