A lifelong resident of South Norfolk, he lived here nine months. He was a machinist for Norfolk & Western Railroad 32 years and came here after the Southern Railroad merger. He was a son of Joseph C. (Joe) Lassiter and Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Stallings Lassiter. He was a member of South Norfolk Baptist Church and a former secretary-treasurer of South Norfolk Lodge 1477, International Association of Machinists. Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Sue Anne Hollomon of Rota, Spain; Mrs. Iris Eileen Bronson and Miss Dulcie Leigh Lassiter of Atlanta; a son, William Judson (Juddie) Lassiter Jr. of South Norfolk; and two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Elizabeth Taylor of Springfield,VA., and Miss Josie Kay Lassiter of Virginia Beach. The body will be sent to Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk. The family will be at the home of his parents, 1655 Chesapeake Drive, South Norfolk, Chesapeake. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park.
