Edward Lassiter, died Monday in Washington, D.C., after a long illness. She was the daughter of the late Robert A. and Mrs. Sarah F. Gaskins, of Portsmouth. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Arthur Haldie and Mrs. Margaret McNamara, of Washington, D.C.; three sons, D.A. Lassiter, of Gloucester; J.E. Lassiter, of Albuquerque, N.M., and R.I. Lassiter, of Hampton; three sisters, Mrs. Charles Curlin and Miss Essie M. Gaskins, of Portsmouth, and Mrs. Allen Jeffrey, of Norfolk; three brothers, R.T. Gaskins, of Portsmouth; A.E. Gaskins, of Dallas, Tex., and R.E. Gaskins, of Tacoma, Wash.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at the A.F. Hines Funeral Home Wednesday morning in Washington. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk, at a time to be announced later.
