Virginian-Pilot, April 17, 1900

The death of Mr. D.C. Lassiter, which occurred at his home, No. 362 Chapel 
Street, at an early hour yesterday morning, will be received with many 
expressions of sorrow by his numerous friends in Norfolk. He had been a 
sufferer for many months, but bore his affliction with fortitude and 
resignation. The deceased was well known in the business community, having 
been engaged in the lumber business here for many years. He was 64 years of 
age, and is survived by two sons and one daughter. The funeral will be held 
from the residence at 3 o’clock this afternoon.
