Norfolk Journal and Guide,Apr 8,1944
James Edgar Lassiter of Atlantic avenue, South Norfolk, died at a local hospital 
April 2. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 4, at the Chatman Funeral Home 
with the Rev. J. H. Lucas officiating. A solo was rendered by Mrs. Annie Banks. He 
is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Beatrice Moore; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Lindsay; 
three brothers, a nephew, and a niece. Interment was made in Mt. Olive Cemetery.
