Norfolk Virginian January 4, 1893 
LATHROP --At her residence, No. 97 Holt street, Tuesday, January 3rd, 1893, at 
5:45 p.m., Mrs. SARAH J. LATHROP wife of L.A. Lathrop.
Funeral notice hereafter.

The Virginian, along with a host of friends and sorrowing relatives, is pained 
to hear of the death of Mrs. Jane Lathrop, the beloved wife of Mr. L. A. 
Lathrop, which sad event occurred at her late residence, No. 97 Holt street, 
yesterday afternoon, after a short but painful illness, which she bore with 
Christian fortitude.  Deceased was the youngest daughter of late Jas. Reid and 
was a lady of a most lovely character.  She was a consistent member of St. 
Paul's Church, a lady of well known charity and her demise is sadly mourned.  
Mrs. Lathrop leaves a husband and four children, the youngest of which is an 
infant.  To the bereaved husband and family The Virginian extends its sincere 
sympathy  Notice of funeral hereafter.

Mrs. Sarah J. Lathrop, youngest daughter of the late James Reid, died in this 
city Tuesday.
