Virginian-Pilot  May 22, 1952
John Burk Lathrop, 41, son of the late Frank W. and Mrs. Mary Hatton Lathrop, a 
native of Norfolk and lifelong resident of this section, died at his residence, 
36th Street and Holly Road, Virginia Beach, yesterday at 2:45 p.m.
He was a member of the Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Virginia Beach. 
Surviving him are one sister, Mrs. Hatton L. Clark, and one brother, Frank H. 
Lathrop, both of Virginia Beach.
The body will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to Sacred Heart 
Catholic Church for services tomorrow at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s 
Cemetery. Rosary services will be held at the funeral apartments tonight at 7:30 
o’clock.
