Lavoie Jr., 60, of the 400 block of Cummings Road, died Jan. 31, 1990, in a Portsmouth hospital. Mr. Lavoie, a native of Haverhill, Mass., was a retired Navy senior Chief Petty Officer with 23 years of service. He was employed with the Engineering Department of Planters Lifesavers in Suffolk. He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include his wife, Janice Elizabeth Hanson Lavoie; two daughters, Rosemarie Angerer of Dayton, Ohio, and Brenda J. LaHorner of Jacksonville, Fla.; a son, Paul J. Lavoie of Virginia Beach; his mother, Ceciel G. Lavoie of Haverhill; three sisters, Edith Lavoie of Methuen, Mass., Agnes Russeau and Albina Beauregard, both of Haverhill; a brother, Robert H. Lavoie of San Bernardino, Calif.; and seven grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Nicholas Catholic Church by the Rev. Carl Naro and the Rev. James Noto. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may join the family from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel. There will be a Christian wake service at 7:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Nicholas Church Building Fund or to the American Lung Association.
