Born on September 8, 1927 in Jacksonville, Florida, Bill was the son of the late William "Hugh" Edmunds Law Jr. and Georgia Maxwell Lynch. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Eleanor Foshee Law. Early in his career, Bill pursued his interest in maritime transportation. While living in Hampton Roads, Bill founded Allied Marine Industries, a tugboat, barge and terminal business. A.M.I. served customers on the East and Gulf Coasts of the U.S., as well as foreign operations. Later in his career, Bill and Eleanor relocated to Wilmington, North Carolina, where he started a second successful business in marine transportation. Bill and Eleanor eventually retired to the Bahamas. Bill continued his passion for business by investing in several real estate ventures. In their later years, Bill and Eleanor returned to Virginia Beach to be near their family. Bill's many friends and associates knew him to be an honorable man who took pride in his career achievements. They also knew him to be a generous man, both in giving to his community and caring for his family. Bill truly enjoyed his work, but he also knew how to enjoy life and his happiest moments came from time spent with family and close friends. Bill is survived by his four sons and their wives W. Bruce (Janet) Law, Michael (Constance) Law, Gregory (Jane) Law, Kelly (Karen) Law, as well as 12 grandchildren and 6 great- grandchildren. The family will celebrate Bill's life at a private family gathering. All final arrangements were handled through Holloman-Brown Funeral Home in Virginia Beach.
