LAWLER, INEZ MALEY - At a local hospital, Saturday, December 24th, 1949, at 2 
o’clock p.m., INEZ MALEY LAWLER, widow of Dr. Emmet J. Lawler, and daughter of 
the late John and Josephine Legg Maley. Remains will be taken from the H. D. 
Oliver Funeral Apartments, No. 1501 Colonial Avenue, to Blessed Sacrament 
Catholic Church for services TUESDAY MORNING at 10 o’clock. Friends of the 
family are invited to attend. Interment, St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Mrs. Inez Maley Lawler, widow of Dr. Emmett J. Lawler and daughter of the late 
John and Mrs. Josephine Legg Maley, died at a Norfolk hospital Saturday at 2 
p.m. She was a native of Washington, D.C. and a resident of Norfolk for many 
years, residing at 940 Hammett Parkway at the time of her death.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Kathleen Gatewood; two sons, Emmett J. Lawler, 
Jr. and J. Winston Lawler; one grandson, Clay Gatewood, Jr., all of Norfolk; two 
brothers, J. Floyd and Frank Maley, both of Washington, D.C. and a sister, Mrs. 
C.N. Gregory, of Arlington.
The body will be taken from the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to Blessed 
Sacrament Catholic Church for services Tuesday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. 
Mary's cemetery. Rosary services will be held at the funeral apartments Monday 
at 8:30 p.m.
