Mr. Lawler was born in Norfolk. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Norfolk. Mr. Lawler was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Mariam B. Lawler of Virginia Beach; two daughters, Katherine Elaine Russell of Cheaspeake and Nora Theresa Turpin of Virginia Beach; a son, Lee Francis Lawler Jr. of Charleston, W.Va.; and five grandchildren, Nicholas Lawler Weaver, Jacqueline Elaine Russell, Lee Francis Lawler III, Helen Lawler, Tracy Leigh Turpin; and 1 great-grandson, Nicholas Decker. Mr. Lawler was preceded in death by his daughter, Leslie Anne Lawler. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church by Fr. John J. Dorgan. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Norfolk. The family will receive friends Sunday evening in the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. H.D.
