The funeral of Mrs. Susan Lawler, wife of the late John Lawler, took place from 
St. Mary’s Catholic Church yesterday morning at 10 o’clock with requiem mass. 
The services were conducted by Rev. John Doherty, who paid the high tribute to 
the deceased. Rev. Father Joseph Frioli, of Newport News; Rev. E.J. Walsh, and 
Rev. J.A. Kelliher, were also on the altar.
Mrs. James Hughes sang “O, Salutaris,” and “Lead, Kindly Light.” The floral 
offerings were beautiful and numerous.
The pallbearers were: Messrs. John F. Lawler, Jr., Lee F. Lawler, Emmett J. 
Lawler, Vincent J. Lawler, R.J. Lawler, Jr., John P. Lawler, James R. Lawler, 
grandsons of the deceased, and Walter U.A. Walsh
