Funeral services of Joseph J. Lawler, who died yesterday at his residence, 
Westover avenue, will be held Thursday morning at 10 o’clock at Sacred Heart 
Catholic church. Interment will be private in St. Mary’s cemetery. Mr. Lawler, who 
was widely known and very popular in Norfolk, where he had lived for 48 years, was 
a native of Ireland. He is survived by four daughters, Misses Katherine, Alice, 
Mary and Elizabeth Lawler, three sons, John, Edward F. and Thomas F. Lawler, and 
seven grandchildren.
