Lawler, passed away at her home, 201 East Lovitt avenue, at 6:25 o’clock a.m. yesterday, after an illness of two years’ duration. The deceased was a lady whose life was adorned by many Christian traits, for which she was conspicuous in her home life, and her demise has brought unfeigned sorrow to the hearts of many who knew her only to love her. Her death is a sore bereavement to her own household. Her affliction, which was of the most distressing character, was borne with heroic fortitude and Christian resignation, not a murmur ever being heard to fall from her lips. Mrs. Lawler was a native of Rhode Island, but had been a resident of Norfolk for 36 years, where her life was an example of good to all. Besides her husband, she is survived by seven children, Joseph, Edward and Thomas Lawler and Misses Catherine, Alice, Elizabeth and Mary Lawler. The funeral will be solemnized from St. Mary’s Catholic church, of which she was a devout member, Friday morning at 10 o’clock.
