He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include three nephews, R. Palmer Lawler, Edward F. Lawler, and Joseph J. Lawler of Norfolk; and a niece, Mrs. Frances L. Scullion of Virginia Beach. A Christian Wake service will be held tonight at 7 in H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
