Lawler, aged 65 years, died yesterday afternoon at 3:40 o’clock at the residence, 115 West Twenty-first street. Mr. Lawler was a native and life-long resident of Norfolk, having been in the employ of the city in the street paving department for a period of 35 years. Besides his wife, Mrs. Virginia Crocker Lawler, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Sy Morris and Mrs. Cecelia Hudgins, of Norfolk, and Mrs. Joseph Butler, of Portsmouth; two sons, John P. Lawler, of Atlantic City, N.J., and James R. Lawler, of Norfolk; two brothers, Patrick H. Lawler and Frank J. Lawler, of Norfolk; a sister, Mrs. May T. Hayes, of Montgomery, Ala.; 11 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Lawler was a brother of the late John F. Lawler. Funeral services will be conducted at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Friday morning at 10 o’clock. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
