NORFOLK — James Edward Lawler-Meakin, 73, of 1049 Jamestown Crescent died in his 
home Friday.
A native of Pittston, Pa., he lived in Norfolk 50 years.
He was the husband of the late Mrs. Eva Luke Meakin and a son of Michael J. and 
Mrs. Zoe Stansbury Meakin.
He was a 40-year retired employee of Taylor-Parker Co.
He was a member of Larchmont Baptist Church, Corinthian Lodge 266, Scottish Rite 
Bodies, and Khedive Temple.
He is survived by a nephew, Vincent Meakin of Virginia Beach.
A funeral service will be held in H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Sunday at 3 
p.m. by the Rev. Calvin Gardner. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
