Lawless, 64, of the 900 block of Graydon Ave., died peacefully March 17, 2000, at home. A native of Norfolk, Mr. Lawless was the grandson of the late Judge Joseph T. Lawless and Marie Antilotti Lawless and the son of the late Joseph T. Lawless Jr. and Dorothy Hart Lawless. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Spencer Coleman Lawless and Joseph T. Lawless III. He graduated from Maury High School in 1955 and attended the Norfolk Division of William and Mary. He was employed by Virginia Maid Kitchens as a certified kitchen designer. Mr. Lawless was a member of the Norfolk Boat Club, was active in the YMCA, and served on the Board of Goodwill and in the Marine Corps Reserve. Survivors include his daughter, Margaret R. Lawless of Warrenton, Va.; a sister, Katharine V. Lawless; two brothers, John H. Lawless and his wife, Elizabeth, and the Honorable Lawrence C. Lawless, and his wife, Susan; and a special friend, Carol Weigand. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church by Fr. Jay Wagner. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, is in charge.
