Norfolk Ledger-Dispatch October 25, 1926
William Frederick Lawrence, 35 years old, died at the Naval Hospital in Portsmouth 
at 11 o'clock yesterday morning. He had been in the Navy 14 years and was 
quartermaster, first class, attached to the U.S.S. Trenton. He was a native of New 
York, but had been in this city for 10 years. He was a veteran of the World War 
and was a member of Norfolk Council, No. 2, O.F.A., and of Norfolk Lodge, No. 32, 
I.O.O.F. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Cornelia Lawrence.
The body was taken from the residence, 211 Chapel street, to Old Zion Christian 
Church, where funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. 
Rev. W. H. Garman, pastor of the church, will officiate. Interment will be in 
Elmwood Cemetery.
