NORFOLK - Alvah H. Lawton of 2522 Cary St., the husband of the late Mrs. Ruth 
Lawton and a native of Norfolk County, died Thursday in his home.

He retired from Evans Paper Co. and was a member of St. Thomas AME Church.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Mary Tazewell, and a brother, Harrell Lawton, 
both of Norfolk; a grandchild; and three great-grandchildren.

The body was taken to Moseley Funeral Home. A funeral will be held today at 2:30 
p.m. in New Rising Sun Holiness Church by the Rev. Moses Lewis. Burial will be 
in Calvary Cemetery.
