Last evening, about 7 o'clock, a young white man named Laylor was found dead sitting on an empty box in Rhea's liquor store, on Market square. It is not known how long he had been dead as he had occupied the same position when found for some time and had not complained of being unwell. The City Coroner was notified and the body taken to the station house, where an inquest was held, the verdict being "death from a congestive chill." The deceased was quite a young man and a tinner by trade. After the inquest, his body was conveyed to his home on Main street by friends to prepare it for interment. Additional Comments: While his tombstone gives his date of death as the 21st, the contemporary article in the paper would make it the 20th.
