NORFOLK — Thomas Severn Laylor, 67, of 6132 Powhatan Ave., retired district 
manager of Eastern Associated Coal Co., wholesale coal brokers, died Thursday 
morning in his home.
He was a native of Norfolk and the husband of Mrs. Virginia Williams Laylor.
He was a past president of Hampton Roads Wholesale Coal Association.
He was a member of Christ and St. Luke's Episcopal Church, where he was lay 
reader and treasurer for 40 years. He also was a former vestryman.
Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Anne L. Iredell of Rockville, Md.; a 
brother, the Rev. Leon N. Laylor of Alexandria; and a grandson.
The body was taken to H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments. A funeral will be held
Saturday at 11 am. in Christ and St Luke's Episcopal Church with burial in 
Elmwood Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the endowment fund of Christ 
and St. Luke’s Church.
