He was born on July 7, 1929 in Tamaqua, PA to the late Victor and Christina Lech. He joined the Navy in 1946 and spent 22 years serving his country as a Senior Master Chief Petty Officer. He married the love of his life, Mary Preputnick Lech, on July 19, 1953. Through his years in the Navy, he lived in many states including Florida, New York, Rhode Island, and Connecticut before settling down in Virginia Beach. While in the Navy he was trained in Nuclear Power and later worked for General Foam & Plastic until his retirement. In his retirement, he enjoyed many summers camping on the Eastern Shore with his Family while crabbing, clamming, and fishing on his boat. He was an active member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. He is survived by his two sons, Eugene and wife Sherrie of Alma, AR and David of Fort Smith, AR; four grandchildren, David, Jr. and wife Heather of Harahan, LA, Tony and wife Amie of Fort Worth, TX, Jennifer of New York, NY, and Michael of Alma, AR; as well as four great-grandchildren, Penny, Sophie, Sebastian, and Aster. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lech and his daughter, Dianna Lech. The viewing will be held on Wednesday March 23, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, 1457 Independence Boulevard, Virginia Beach, VA. The funeral service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon- brown.com.
