The Virginian Pilot and Norfolk Landmark September 29, 1913

Mrs. Annie Galt LeCompte, widow of Sylvanus H. LeCompte, died at No. 204 
South Park Avenue, Brambleton Sunday morning at 10:45 o’clock. She was a 
native of Princess Anne County, and had resided in Norfolk for forty years. 
Mrs. LeCompte, who had been in failing health for a year or more, is 
survived by her sister, Mrs. George H. Hunter and grandson Emmet LeCompte, 
both of Norfolk. Funeral services will be held in St. Peter’s P.E. Church, 
of which Mrs. LeCompte was a member, Tuesday afternoon at 4 o’clock. Rev. 
Reuben Meredith will officiate and interment will be in Cedar Grove 
Cemetery.
