The Virginian Pilot Friday Aug. 28, 1959
NORFOLK- Joseph Henry Lee, 73, husband of Mrs. Mary Katie Anderson Lee and son 
of James B. and Mrs. Emily Lovitt Lee, died at the residence, 2911 Peronne Ave., 
Thursday at 4:30 a.m.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ernest E. Wood and Mrs. 
William Edgar Capps; two sons, Joseph Edward Lee and James A. Lee; a sister, 
Mrs. Emily Losch, all of Norfolk; a brother, Jesse G. Lee of Portsmouth; two 
granddaughters, Mrs. Harvey H. Parsons and Miss Iris Fay Lee; a grandson, James 
A. Lee Jr., all of Norfolk and nieces and nephews.
Lee was a native of Colerain, N.C., and had been a resident of Norfolk and 
Portsmouth all of his life.  He was a shipwright at Norfolk Naval Shipyard, 
Portsmouth, until his retirement in 1956.  He was a member of the First 
Pentecostal Holiness Church. 
The body will be taken from the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home to the First 
Pentecostal Holiness Church for funeral services Saturday at 3 p.m.  The body 
will be at the church an hour prior to services.  Burial will be in Elmwood 
Cemetery.
