Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark May 20, 1917

John W. Lee, aged 31 years, died at his home, 138 Seaboard Avenue, South 
Norfolk, at 6:15 o'clock yesterday morning after a long illness.  He was a 
native of Norfolk county and had lived in South Norfolk all his life.  He is 
survived by his wife, Mrs. Harriet E. Kennedy Lee, two children, his mother 
Mrs. Weltha Old Lee and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Hooker, Mrs. Dora Gayle and 
Mrs. William T. Stokely, Washington, D.C.  He was the son of Marcellus Lee.
The funeral will be conducted this afternoon at 3 o'clock at the residence by 
Rev. O.D. Poythress, pastor of the South Norfolk Christian Church.  The 
interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk.
