He was the husband of Margaret Walke Whitehead Lee, and a native of Norfolk. He was a graduate of Episcopal High School and the University of Virginia; employed by City of Norfolk for 38 years as public safety clerk, superintendent of public buildings and director of public safety prior to retirement; lifelong member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and past vestryman; a Navy veteran of World War II as a Lt. Cmdr.; and life member of the Society of Lees of Virginia. Other survivors include a sister, Mrs. R.C.W. Hitch, a stepson, William T. Waff, both of Norfolk; and two nieces, Mrs. Claiborne W. Fitchett of Norfolk and Mrs. Francis M. Hall of Virginia Beach; and three grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, by the Rev. Walton T. Davis.
